Human brains can start being  destroyed as early as an infant. For years a fact that many people try their hardest to ignore is that every day, children across the world are being abandoned by their parents. Most of these abandonment cases happen when the child is just a few hours old. Though, there is not a solid record of how many abandoned kids get abandoned on average each year, it had gotten to the point where authorities are beginning to take extra precautions to assemble a team of people, from psychologist to police officers, to handles the situation of an abandoned baby with care. It has been shown that some reasons why mothers abandon their baby is because they feel that they do not have a better choice on how to handle the new born. They already made the decision to not keep their baby, but instead of putting children up for adoption, they immediately think to place the baby where they are standing and slowly walk away as they silently wish that nobody sees them. Another reason that children get abandoned is because the mother develops a resentment for her baby over the course of the nine months that she was pregnant. Then, once the child is born, the mother finds it difficult to handle the thought of holding or being near the child that they did not want in the first place. However, no matter the situation, the outcome is typically the same; the child will end up developing psychological problems when they get older. Unlike Jack in Oscar Wilde's Importance of Being Ernest, most abandoned children develop abandonment and trust issues. They always feel the lose of not knowing who their parent is and the fact that their parents do not even take the time to make sure that the child is in a safe and sheltered place, and the pain of that thought never eases over time. I think that for these reasons, advertisements for adoption should be stressed among unstable mothers. As well, when expecting mothers should have a psychologist, in the same building as their doctors, which should be paid for through insurance or a predetermined plan for those who do not have insurance. There is   plenty of adults in the world who would be willing to see to it that children are placed in a safe environment. An example of this is af my old neighborhood, every adult would make sure that all the kids were off the road when a car was coming near, they would all make sure that every kid was fed and that we were having fun. Many adults care for the well being of a child; therefore, society should realize that when it comes to an abandoned child, authorities should take advantage of that caring quality.
